Overnight trading was very robust coming into the open of the U.S. Trading session. European leaders had announced agreement on a plan for funding and containing the euro zone sovereign debt crisis and this, combined with positive corporate earnings reports, was fueling optimism in the markets. As a result, our plan was to be careful and to look for pullbacks to trade in trending market conditions.
