A few years ago, I did a mental exercise that changed my life. It made me quit my job. I moved from Munich, Germany to Austin, Texas and started a new life. I will tell you more about that in a bit, so read on.
My fifteen-year-old son Julius is into sailing. He started sailing when he was eleven and he got really good at it. As I have mentioned in my previous blog, I will be in a big trip and that is because my son will be in six sailing regattas. We will be on the road for six weeks!
We will come all the way from Austin to Houston. Then straight to Pensacola and then to Grand. We will then travel to Brant Beach, New Jersey; then Falmouth and Hyannis. We will also visit the North Cape York club in Lassalle, Michigan and then head back to Austin.
So, let us go back to the mental exercise that CHANGED my LIFE. The exercise was simple; it is just one simple question. The question is: When you die. What do you want to have written on your tombstone? You only have two sentences. I did not want to have written on my tombstone “He was a great employee” nor “He is a great trader/investor”
What I want to be written on my tombstone are “He was a great dad” and “a great teacher”. That’s it! That is why I quit my six figured job, became a trader and moved all the way from Munich, Germany to Austin, Texas.
Such decision allowed me to be with my son and travel with him. We will be on the road for a 4000 mile trip. We a have great setup; we have a 34-foot trailer loaded with two sailboats, my Harley Davidson and of course! The “little spider”! This will bring fun on the road! We are towing all this with a 40-foot motor home.
This is FREEDOM! So let’s get on the road! Follow our road trip here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9aAZdW9BGo&list=PLBa3sAx-Io2kCH7pMVubLPhUqGcsR-FQf&index=12.
