It was a crazy day! We arrived at the second regatta at Long Beach in New Jersey. This is a bigger competition than the previous regatta (Houston), it has one hundred forty-four boats. I was not worried though; my son Julius and his skipper Lucy came prepared.
We arrived three days before the day of the competition, the kids wasted no time. They went out and checked all their gears. Then they talked to the local sailors to get an idea where the wind will be coming from and how strong it will be. For the past two days, Julius and Lucy got up at six o’clock in the morning and at seven they were already at the beach running and doing some exercises. Right after the warm-ups, they hop in their boats and sail. They were perfectly prepared for the race. They wasted no time at all!
On the day of the competition, the wind picked up and the kids are riding it really well. I was on a boat with food and water for the team and we could barely keep up! They were going really fast. It was a fantastic day for sailing! At end of the day, they were in 4th place out of one hundred forty-four boats.
Trading is like the regatta, you have to come prepared if you want to win. The traders need to study the market first before riding it, just like the wind.
