“The difference between who you are and who you want to be, is what you do.”
I heard this quote some time ago. And it resonated.
It’s a pillar of the decision I made to use this incredible canvas of life we have, to paint the picture I wanted and live.
I believe Time is absolutely, without question, the most valuable resource any of us have.
I had a comfortable, safe, secure corporate job with IBM. Never enough to get me ahead, or to where I wanted to be, but just enough for me to keep showing up. Then… I decided to do.
Who I was, and who I wanted to be, weren’t going to be possible without educating myself and taking control of my financial opportunities. Then, taking the action necessary to paint my own picture.
I wasn’t willing to let a Job Description tell me what those things in life I was missing, or would never be able to do, was worth the salary I had accepted.
I think this quote says it best,
“The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.”
– Henry David Thoreau
Best decision I ever made.
A man or woman is a success if they get up in the morning and get to bed at night, and in between they do whatever they want to do. Especially, if they do it with whomever (probably most important to me – this road trip with my son is absolutely invaluable), and wherever they want.
