This is an important lesson:
Right now, we are waiting for wind.
The sailors are ready: They started rigging their boats at 7:00am.
They were ready to start sailing at 9:30am.
But you can’t sail without wind.
This reminds me of an important concept for trading:
In order to succeed, TWO conditions have to be met:
1.) YOU have to be ready.
2.) THE MARKETS have to be ready.
It’s great if YOU are ready to trade after dinner, but during that time the markets might not be ready.
And when the markets are ready in the mornings – usually around the open – then YOU might not be ready.
You can’t force the markets to be ready to be traded just because YOU have time.
These sailors can not force the wind to be there just because THEY are ready to sail.
If they would go out right now, they would just be floating around. It’s impossible to race when there’s no wind.
So we will wait until the wind picks up.
Everybody stays rigged and dressed so that they are ready whenever the wind arrives.
When the wind gets here, we will be ready.
And then we will have an awesome racing day! 🙂
