I’m shipping up to Boston!

Right now, my daughter Vivian and I are visiting her brother Julius in Boston.

And yesterday, we watch him racing on the Charles River.

When it was his time for a break, they both watched the other sailors and discussed racing strategies. So cool!

After watching several races, Vivian and I got hungry and decided to get some lunch.

Vivian was in the mood for “loaded fries” and found a restaurant close by:

The Boston Burger Company.

It was torture!

As you might know, I have been trying to follow a Keto diet since last week, and then  this burger joint has 16 different loaded fries (!!!) and 33 different burgers with names like “Artery Clogger”, “Pigferno” and “Mac Attack”.

And I’m ordering a Greek Salad!

You gotta be kidding me.

After lunch, we continued our adventures:

We went to the Boston Public Library (soooo cool!), strolled through the Botton Commons and found …

The coolest bookstore ever

It’s partially outside!

We browsed through the shelves for a while and then Vivian bought 2 really cool books.

Then it was time to head back to the hotel and meet up with Julius again who was done racing for the day.

Before we went for dinner, Julius asked “Do you want to get a tour of MIT?”

Um, YES!

So Julius took us on a tour of the MIT campus.

It was so interesting to see all the different buildings and he showed us his classrooms, the libraries, really cool study places, and …

The Banana Lounge

Yep, you read right!

This is a lounge on MIT’s campus that is absolutely loaded with crates upon crates of bananas. Students can drop by and pick up a banana real quick at any time, for free.

The lounge is a great space and has beanbag chairs, piles of Legos, and a napping area for use by stressed-out undergrads.

But the most amazing thing was the sign in the lounge:

We did it: We ate 500,000 bananas

Holy Cannoli, that’s a lot of bananas!

Of course, we had to grab a banana. This is just too much fun.

Anyhow… time to start our second day in Boston. We have a lot going on, so I better get going.

And tonight, we will celebrate Julius’ birthday at Fogo de Chão.

Speaking of a good dinner:
